Hemet, Calif. – McCrometer, Inc., a globally recognized flow meter manufacturer, today announced the launch of their redesigned FlowComTM digital register.
The FlowCom unit, McCrometer’s digital register accompanying the Mc®Propeller and Water Specialties® flow meters, has primarily served the agriculture and municipal water industries since its launch in 2007. The FlowCom functions as the “brains” of the flow measurement instrument, displaying the meter’s totalizer and flow rate on a digital screen and transmitting flow data via electronic communication to the user’s management software of choice.
The FlowCom recently underwent an engineering redesign and is now manufactured with an IP68-rated electronics housing, sophisticated data logger, and is soon to be equipped with integrated telemetry. The unit’s IP68 rating ensures the device is protected from dust, dirt, and water ingress, a key component for users installing their flow meter and register in harsh environments prone to extreme weather events.
“The addition of the data logging feature provides extra peace of mind for customers and water districts necessitating accurate, reliable flow data documentation,” explained Aimee Davis, Agriculture Vertical Marketing Manager. “Remote installations and locations prone to unreliable communication signals will benefit from the FlowCom’s data logging capabilities providing continuous storage and recording of flow data.”
The redesigned FlowCom maintains its historical features and functions, including its many output options, meter and remote mounting capabilities, and its highly IoT-compatible system interface. Soon to be integrated within the newly configured unit is SmartTraxTM, McCrometer’s telemetry featuring ExactReadTM technology, providing users with an additional means for flow data collection and monitoring.
“The changes and improvements to the FlowCom digital register gives users the benefits of advanced flow technology at an economical price tag,” said Davis. “The FlowCom’s features support our customers’ efforts to manage their time, resources, and daily water usage.”
The re-engineered FlowCom unit is now available for purchase and obsoletes previous designs. Interested customers may order through McCrometer authorized representatives and directly from the factory.
